These martingale lead combinations are made to order, especially for your dog. The throat piece is created with 1.25" leather, which is hand cut, beveled and dyed. It is then hand stitched to your choice of color leather padding. The resulting throat piece is approximately 1.5" wide.
Rope leads (10mm thick) are added to the throat piece, with rope which is imported from the UK, as this is the highest quality rope I have been able to find. Rope is hand sewn at all connection points and stitching is covered by a decorative wrap.
I am frequently asked about letting a dog tug on this type of leash material. I have one, moderately aggressive tugger and the lead has held up just fine. While the decorative wraps on each end could be damaged by teeth, this can also be easily repaired if needed. But, as always, every dog is different. Dogs should never be allowed to chew on the rope or left with the rope on them when not being supervised. If ropes are damaged, these are unable to be repaired and I will not replace damaged items.
